205 CM / NOTHING FIT
The first garment Jeremy altered was not made for a collection. It was a pair of jeans that did not fit.
2020—2021At approximately 205 centimetres tall, Jeremy had difficulty finding jeans that fit. During a second-hand shop visit with his grandmother, he found a pair he wanted to keep even though the proportions were wrong.
Jeremy's grandmother had more than forty years of sewing and textile experience. Together they treated the jeans as material rather than a finished verdict. Extensions, added fabric panels, changes in fit and visible seams all became possible.
The alteration did not make Jeremy a professional tailor. It changed the way he understood a garment: something is not necessarily finished because somebody else decided it was finished.
