KRYSSELLEBag
Web edition Copenhagen

Origin / One way through the Archive

KRYSSELLE DID NOT BEGIN WITH A COLLECTION.

It arrived in fragments: a pair of jeans that did not fit, a printer and transfer paper, a jewellery project that never launched, crystals, Crete, a beetle found on the ground, and two paths crossing again.

    GARMENT STUDY

    THE JEANS

At 205 centimetres, Jeremy could not find jeans that fit. A second-hand pair and his grandmother’s textile knowledge changed the way he understood when a garment was finished.

    PREVIOUS PROJECT

    PHILIPPE COUTURE

Photoshop, home transfer paper, clothes for friends, Printify and a first Copenhagen shoot. There was a website. Jeremy’s mother bought two T-shirts. The work still did not feel physical enough.

    ARCHIVE NOTE

    OTHER DIRECTIONS

Fashion moved into the background while music took more of Jeremy’s attention. Identity, visual recognition and worldbuilding remained active questions.

  4. 04LATE 2024 / EARLY 2025

    ABANDONED PROJECT

    GLIZN

A jewellery project moved through stones, suppliers and plans for a Valentine’s Day launch. It never launched. The crystal vocabulary stayed.

    ORIGIN FILE

    CRETE

Around Chania, markets, opals and crystals sharpened an interest in material that was natural, irregular and found.

  6. 06CRETE / 2025

    FOUND OBJECT

    THE JEWEL BEETLE

A beetle found on the walk home from a market became KRYSSELLE’s first symbol. It is no longer the primary mark, but it remains part of the origin.

    NAMING STUDY

    NAMING KRYSSELLE

Crystal became sound, and sound became a name. KRYSSELLE was not discovered. It was constructed.

  8. 08SPRING / SUMMER 2025

    MATERIAL STUDY

    BACK TO CLOTHING

Cyanotype, plants, sunlight and bleach shifted the question from artwork placed on clothing to the garment itself as part of the artwork.

    SHARED ORIGIN

    TWO PATHS CROSS AGAIN

After years with almost no contact, Mary found Jeremy again through the KRYSSELLE work he was posting. Her own craft practice met a project already in motion.

    FIELD NOTE

    FIELD RESEARCH

London and Milan were read on foot: stores, museums, beadwork, windows, menus, printed ephemera and the small systems that make a world coherent.

    PREVIOUS MARK

    THE OLD MARK

An ordinary encounter with another insect symbol made the limits of a generic beetle mark concrete. The beetle moved from identity to archive.

    CURRENT

    NOW

Clothing remains central. The surrounding world joins garment, object, image, material, archive, memory, research and story.

Retrospective framing

THE QUESTION CHANGED.

THEN
How can I put my artwork on clothing?
LATER
How can the garment itself become part of the artwork?
NOW
How can we build a complete world where garment, object, image, archive, material and story belong to the same place?
